O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) se reuniu nesta quarta-feira (25) com o presidente da Autoridade Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas. Os dois participam da Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas (ONU).
O encontro não estava previsto na agenda do petista. Lula, no entanto, teria deixado claro à sua equipe que “fazia questão” de uma reunião, mesmo que rápida, com Abbas.
Segundo apurou a CNN, a Autoridade Palestina agradeceu o discurso de Lula na abertura da assembleia.

Após o encontro desta quarta, Lula postou nas redes sociais uma foto ao lado de Abbas.
“Encontrei-me na ONU com o presidente da Autoridade Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas. É a primeira vez que eles participam como observadores da Assembleia Geral da ONU. Manifestei minha solidariedade pelo sofrimento de mulheres e crianças palestinas com a violência e a necessidade de um cessar-fogo imediato”, escreveu o presidente.
